Ultra fine precipitated aluminum hydroxide (ATH) is a high-performance inorganic flame retardant filler prepared by a special chemical precipitation process. Its chemical formula is Al(OH)₃, molecular weight is 78, and its appearance is a white fluffy powder. Its average particle size can reach 0.5-2 μ m, with uniform particle size distribution, large specific surface area, and high surface activity. As a typical additive flame retardant, it decomposes when heated above 300 ℃, releasing three molecules of crystal water, absorbing a large amount of heat and generating a high-temperature resistant Al ₂ O Ⅲ dense layer, effectively suppressing combustion spread. At the same time, it has multiple advantages such as reducing material density and improving processing performance. It is halogen-free, low smoke, non-toxic, and meets environmental standards such as EU RoHS.

Application areas:
1. Plastic industry
Thermoplastic: Used for polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), etc., with an addition of 20-60%, it can achieve a flame retardant rating of UL94 V-0, while improving product rigidity and dimensional stability. It is widely used in home appliance casings and automotive interior parts.
Thermosetting plastic: used as a filling flame retardant in epoxy resin and unsaturated polyester to reduce shrinkage and improve mechanical strength, suitable for electronic potting materials and insulation boards.
2. Rubber industry
Universal rubber: 30-50% is added to natural rubber and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) to improve the flame retardancy and wear resistance of rubber products. It is used for wire and cable sheaths and flame retardant conveyor belts.
Silicone rubber: As an economical alternative filler for gas-phase white carbon black, it reduces costs while maintaining high flame retardancy, and is suitable for high-temperature seals and flame-retardant silicone strips.
3. Coatings and inks
Flame retardant coating: added to acrylic and polyurethane coatings to form a high-temperature resistant flame retardant coating, used for steel structure fire prevention and tunnel inner wall protection.
Environmentally friendly ink: As a filler to improve ink flowability and coverage, it does not release VOCs and meets the standards for food packaging ink.
