Ammonium polyphosphate APP (n=200) is an inorganic flame retardant containing nitrogen and phosphorus, with a chemical formula of(NH₄)ₙ₊₂PₙO₃ₙ₊₁(n=200), belonging to the insoluble ammonium polyphosphate with medium to high degree of polymerization. Its appearance is a white uniform powder (particle size 10-20 μ m), with high thermal stability (decomposition temperature>280 ℃), low moisture absorption (≤ 0.5%), and balanced flame retardant efficiency. As a halogen-free and environmentally friendly product, it releases no toxic gases during combustion and complies with national standards such as GB/T 24267 It has high content of P and N flame retardant elements, ammonium polyphosphate has good thermal stability, almost neutral, non-toxic and low smoke. Ammonium Polyphosphate APP(n=200) can be used in plastics, rubber conveyor belts, .Ammonium polyphosphate has low water solubility, low processing viscosity, and high flame retardancy.

Aggregation advantage:

A polymerization degree of n=200 achieves a balance between flame retardant efficiency and processing performance:

Difficult to dissolve in water, avoiding migration failure in humid environments, suitable for long-term outdoor or high humidity scenarios;

The thermal decomposition temperature is higher than the processing temperature of most polymer materials (such as PP melting point of 160-190 ℃), ensuring stable performance during processing;

Good compatibility with resin, with a flexural modulus retention rate of over 90% after addition, without affecting the mechanical properties of the substrate.

Dual flame retardant mechanism:

1. Gas phase flame retardant: Under high temperature, it decomposes and releases ammonia gas (NH3), dilutes oxygen concentration below the combustion threshold, and inhibits flame spread;

2. Condensed phase flame retardant: Generate a molten layer of polyphosphate, which adheres to the surface of the material to form a thermal insulation and oxygen barrier carbon layer, reducing thermal conductivity efficiency.

Application areas:

1. Plastic and rubber industry

Universal plastic: used for polypropylene (PP) pipes, polyethylene (PE) cable sheaths, adding 12% can pass UL94 V0 flame retardant test (3mm thickness), suitable for building water supply and drainage, power transmission and other scenarios;

Engineering rubber: Modified ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) is used to prepare flame retardant sealing strips with a flame retardant rating of GB/T 2408 V-0. It has both anti-aging and elastic properties and is widely used in automotive doors, windows, and building curtain walls.

2. Coatings and Building Materials Industry

Expansion type fireproof coating: As a core flame retardant component, it can be compounded with pentaerythritol and melamine to expand 15-20 times in the event of fire, forming an efficient fireproof insulation layer. It is suitable for key fire protection areas such as steel structures and tunnel walls;

Thermal insulation board: added to polystyrene (EPS) or polyurethane (PU) insulation board to solve the problem of flammability of traditional materials, comply with GB 8624 B1 level flame retardant requirements, and reduce the risk of building exterior wall fires.

3. In the field of electronics and packaging

Electronic and electrical casing: Used for router and charger casings made of ABS plastic, with a flame retardant rating of V-1 and meeting the requirements of the EU RoHS directive for hazardous substances;

Industrial packaging materials: After adding APP (n=200) to modified polypropylene woven bags, they can be used for hazardous chemical packaging and have passed transportation safety tests such as UN38.3 to ensure the safety of logistics processes.
