Anhydrous zinc borate is prepared by removing crystal water from 2ZnO·3B2O3·3.5H2O at high temperature. Compared with other zinc borate, it has higher thermal stability and can be used at higher processing temperatures .Anhydrous zinc borate is used for polymer flame retardant systems with high processing temperature requirements such as high-temperature nylon, polyester, polyetherketone, polysulfone, and fluoro polymers whose processing emperature is higher than 290°C.
Anhydrous zinc borate, presenting as white fine powder with high whiteness and delicate powder. Small specific surface area, with glossiness, strong distribution rate in various substrates, and almost no effect on the original color and appearance of the product after addition. Moderate density, low energy required during ingredient preparation, and not easily precipitated in the dispersion system, which is beneficial for uniform dispersion in production and processing.
Has high chemical stability, can maintain stability in both acidic and alkaline environments, and does not easily react with common chemicals. Excellent thermal stability, able to withstand high temperatures, and will not decompose or fail due to temperature changes during material processing and use. Insoluble in water and general organic solvents, with good water and oil resistance, suitable for various complex usage environments.
The purity is over 99.5%, ensuring the high performance and reliability of the product. The content of ZnO is greater than 46%, and the content of B ₂ O3 is greater than 52%. Accurate composition ratio is the key to its flame retardant and smoke reducing effects. The fineness can reach 3000 mesh, and the extremely fine particle size allows it to be more fully dispersed in the material, enhancing compatibility with the substrate and improving overall performance.
