Aluminum hypophosphite (chemical formula: Al (H2PO2) 3, CAS number: 7784-22-7) is a white powdery inorganic phosphorus flame retardant with a phosphorus content of ≥ 30% and a thermal decomposition temperature of ≥ 280 ℃. It has the characteristics of low water solubility, high flame retardant efficiency, and excellent compatibility with PVC. It releases phosphate ester active flame retardant ingredients, forming a carbonized layer to block heat sources and oxygen during PVC combustion. It has the triple effects of flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and enhanced mechanical properties, and meets environmental standards such as RoHS and REACH in the European Union. Product Introduction:

1. High flame retardant efficiency, suitable for PVC combustion characteristics

Aluminum hypophosphite has high phosphorus content and precise flame retardant mechanism for PVC combustion process:

Gas phase flame retardant: releases phosphorus containing free radicals at high temperatures, captures active hydrogen (H ·) and hydroxyl (OH ·) generated by PVC combustion, and inhibits combustion chain reactions;

Condensed phase flame retardant: forms a ceramic like carbonized layer, prevents further degradation and heat transfer of the PVC matrix, and reduces the heat release rate (such as reducing the peak heat release rate by more than 40% in PVC cable materials);

Smoke suppression effect: reduces the release of hydrogen chloride (HCl) during combustion, lowers smoke toxicity, and enhances fire safety.

2. Excellent compatibility with PVC, ensuring product performance

Good dispersibility: The powder particle size is uniform (D50=5-10 μ m), and it is easy to disperse in PVC resin and plasticizers (such as DOP) without the need for additional coupling agents, simplifying the production process;

High retention rate of mechanical properties: PVC products with 5-15% aluminum hypophosphite added only show a 5-8% decrease in tensile strength and elongation at break compared to the untreated group (better than the 15-20% decrease of traditional flame retardant aluminum hydroxide), meeting the strict requirements for mechanical properties of pipes, plates, etc;

Stable weather resistance: Long term exposure to ultraviolet light and humid and hot environments does not decompose or migrate, suitable for outdoor PVC profiles (such as door and window profiles).

3. Environmentally friendly and halogen-free, in line with international standards

Halogen free: does not contain elements such as Cl and Br, and does not produce toxic substances such as dioxins during combustion, meeting the requirements of EU EN 50399 (cable flame retardant standard), GB/T 8624 (building material flame retardant grade), etc;

Low heavy metal: harmful elements such as lead and cadmium content<10ppm, suitable for food contact grade PVC products (such as plastic wrap packaging).

Application areas:

1. PVC pipes and fittings

Flame retardant water supply pipe: used for indoor water supply systems in buildings. Adding 8-12% aluminum hypophosphite can make the flame retardant level reach GB/T 8624 B1 level, while maintaining the water pressure resistance of the pipe (burst pressure ≥ 1.6MPa);

Cable protection sleeve: Adding 10-15% to PVC-C (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) sleeve can improve high temperature resistance (Vicat softening temperature ≥ 93 ℃) and flame retardancy, meeting the GB 50217 "Design Standard for Electric Power Engineering Cables".

2. PVC sheets and sheets

Architectural decorative panels: used for wall and ceiling materials, with a flame retardant rating of UL94 V-0 and a smoke density rating (SDR)<75, meeting the fire safety requirements of public places;

Automotive interior sheet: Suitable for PVC leather and floor leather production, passed FMVSS 302 (automotive material flame retardant test), with a combustion rate of ≤ 100mm/min.

3. PVC wire and cable

Flame retardant power cable: Adding 5-8% to the PVC insulation layer can increase the oxygen index (OI) from 25% to over 32%, meeting the requirements of GB/T 19666 "General Rules for Flame retardant and Fire resistant Wires, Cables or Optical Cables";

Communication cable sheath: reduces the release of corrosive gases during combustion and protects the safety of communication equipment.
