PHOSPHINATE FLAME RETARDANT FOR POLYESTER INJECTION MOLDING APPLICATIONS-Aluminium Hypophosphite (Al (H2 PO2 )3,It is an inorganic phosphorus based flame retardant developed specifically for polyester injection molding, with a phosphorus content of ≥ 30% and a thermal decomposition temperature of ≥ 280 ℃. It has the characteristics of good compatibility with polyester resin, stable high-temperature processing, and minimal impact on injection molding process. It achieves efficient flame retardancy in polyester materials such as PET and PBT through a dual mechanism of gas-phase flame retardancy and condensed phase carbonization, while maintaining product transparency and mechanical strength. It meets standards such as UL94 and GB/T 2408 and is an ideal choice to replace traditional bromine based flame retardants.Shandong taixing produce two type PHOSPHINATE FLAME RETARDANT FOR POLYESTER INJECTION MOLDING APPLICATIONS : Aluminium Hypophosphite ( Low Sulfate Content,aht-220B ) and regular Aluminium Hypophosphite ( HT-220A) two type Aluminium Hypophosphite (Al (H2 PO2 )3.
Product Introduction:
1. Three core advantages of adapting to polyester injection molding
(1) High temperature stability, compatible with injection molding process
Processing temperature resistance: Initial decomposition temperature ≥ 280 ℃, higher than the commonly used temperature for polyester injection molding (PET: 240-280 ℃; PBT: 220-260 ℃), to avoid premature decomposition and the production of bubbles or degradation products during processing, ensuring the surface smoothness of the product (glossiness ≥ 85GU);
Long term heat resistance: After injection molding, the product can be used for a long time at 150 ℃, with a flame retardant performance retention rate of ≥ 95%, suitable for polyester components that require high temperature resistance.
(2) High dispersibility ensures product uniformity
Nanoscale particle size: D50=2-5 μ m, surface modified with stearic acid, uniformly dispersed in polyester melt without agglomeration, avoiding "zebra stripes" or uneven mechanical properties in injection molded parts;
Low viscosity effect: Adding 10-15% aluminum hypophosphite to polyester melt reduces the melt index (MFR) by ≤ 12% (better than the 25% reduction of traditional flame retardant aluminum hydroxide), making it suitable for precision injection molding of complex structural parts.
(3) Dual balance of flame retardancy and mechanical properties
Efficient flame retardant: Adding 12-18% can achieve UL94 V-0 flame retardant grade (1.6mm thickness) for polyester, increase oxygen index (OI) to over 32%, and produce no droplets or only self extinguishing droplets during combustion;
Mechanical performance maintenance: The tensile strength of injection molded products is ≥ 75MPa (about 10% lower than pure polyester), the bending modulus is ≥ 2000MPa, and the impact strength is ≥ 8kJ/m ², meeting the mechanical requirements of structural components.
2. Dual flame retardant mechanism to enhance safety performance
Gas phase flame retardant: releases phosphorus containing active groups (such as H ₂ PO ₂ ·) at high temperatures, captures H · and OH · radicals generated by polyester combustion, inhibits combustion chain reactions, and reduces peak heat release rate by more than 40%;
Condensed phase flame retardant: forms a continuous and dense carbonized layer, with a thickness increased by 30% compared to before addition, effectively blocking oxygen and heat transfer, reducing combustion duration (reducing total heat release by 50%).

Application areas:
1. Electronic and electrical injection molded parts
PET connector: used for mobile phone chargers and computer motherboard interfaces. After adding 10-12% aluminum hypophosphite, it has passed UL94 V-0 certification and meets CTI (Leakage Traceability Index) ≥ 600V, with excellent arc resistance performance;
PBT relay housing: suitable for automotive relays, industrial control modules, heat-resistant wire test (GWIT ≥ 775 ℃), long-term resistance to high temperature environment of 125 ℃.
2. Automotive components
PET engine hood components: such as air filter housing, added with 15% aluminum hypophosphite, passed FMVSS 302 flame retardant test (combustion rate ≤ 50mm/min), resistant to engine oil corrosion (SAE 10W-40 soaking for 72 hours, performance retention rate ≥ 95%);
PBT automotive electronic casing: used for car camera modules and sensor housings, with both flame retardancy and impact resistance (simply supported beam impact strength ≥ 15kJ/m ²).
3. Home and consumer goods
