Magnesium hydroxide MDH-I, with the chemical formula Mg (OH) ₂, appears as a white fine powder. It constructs an integrated functional system of "flame retardant compatibility reinforcement" through surface hydroxyl grafting and microcapsule encapsulation technology:
Efficient flame retardant: The decomposition temperature reaches 360 ℃, and the heat release and absorption increase by 20%. Adding 30% of a single component can make the material pass the UL94 V-0 flame retardant test (1.6mm thickness).
Low smoke and non-toxic: The smoke density is reduced by 50% during combustion, and there is no release of halides or heavy metals. It complies with the GB/T 2408-2021 flame retardant standard and the EU RoHS environmental directive.
Good compatibility: Activation index ≥ 99%, forming chemical bonds with polymer matrices (such as PE, PP, PA, etc.), maintaining a tensile strength retention rate of 98%, without affecting the mechanical properties of the material.
Application areas:
-Used for high-performance materials such as nylon (PA6/PA66) and polyester (PET/PBT), with a recommended addition of 25-35%, it can achieve a flame retardant rating of V-0 and improve the product's weather resistance (aging coefficient ≥ 0.85). It is suitable for automotive engine components and electronic and electrical casings.
-Adding 20-25% to PP and PE can pass the vertical combustion test with a melt flow rate retention rate of ≥ 90%, making it suitable for injection molded household items and packaging materials.
-Compatible with nitrile rubber (NBR) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), adding 30-40% can meet the requirements of flame retardant sealing strips, industrial conveyor belts, and other scenarios, with a 12% increase in tear strength and enhanced flexural performance.
-Used for low smoke halogen-free cable sheath, combined with synergists, can make the oxygen index (OI) ≥ 35%, smoke density grade (SDR) ≤ 25, in compliance with GB/T 19666-2005 flame retardant standard.
-Used in PVC foam board and fiber-reinforced composite materials, achieving a combination of flame retardancy and lightweight, with combustion performance reaching GB 8624-2012 B1 level, meeting building interior standards.
