Magnesium Hydroxide Mg(OH)2

Magnesium hydroxide (chemical formula: Mg (OH) ₂), also known as caustic magnesite or lightly burned magnesia, is a typical inorganic hydroxide flame retardant. Its appearance is white powder, with a triple flame retardant mechanism of high thermal decomposition temperature (initial decomposition temperature of about 340 ℃), release of bound water during combustion to absorb heat and cool down, and generation of magnesium oxide to isolate oxygen. At the same time, it has the advantages of smoke suppression, halogen-free, non-toxic, acid and alkali resistance, making it an ideal choice to replace traditional halogen containing flame retardants.

Magnesium Hydroxide Mg(OH)₂ is a versatile inorganic flame retardant available in multiple grades (MDH-III-3, MDH-III-10, MDH-I, and modified types with stearic acid/silane). 


Magnesium hydroxide

Appearance: White powder, high purity (Mg (OH) ₂ content ≥ 99%), controllable particle size (D50=1-10 μ m), can provide different specifications of nanometer and micrometer products according to needs, ensuring uniform dispersion in the substrate.

Density: 2.36g/cm ³, light specific gravity, and minimal impact on the mechanical properties of the material after addition.

Solubility: Difficult to dissolve in water (solubility 0.0009g/100mL, 20 ℃), excellent water resistance, suitable for humid environments.
