Tri hydrate aluminum hydroxide (chemical formula Al (Al(OH)₃·3H₂O, abbreviated as ATH) is regarded as an ideal material with both performance and compliance by industries such as plastics, rubber, and environmental protection due to its high flame retardancy, smoke suppression, non toxicity, and wide applicability.
Trihydrate aluminum hydroxide is a white crystalline powder with a molecular structure containing 3 molecules of crystal water (weight loss rate of 34%). It decomposes when heated to 240 ℃, releasing water vapor and absorbing a large amount of heat (heat absorption value of 1.96kJ/g), achieving flame retardant and smoke suppression effects. It combines the stability and environmental friendliness of inorganic materials, with a purity of ≥ 99% and a heavy metal content of<5ppm. It has been certified by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems, complies with GB 25572-2010 food additive standards and EU REACH regulations, and is an ideal alternative to traditional halogen flame retardants.

Application:Recommended to be used in wires and cables, copper clad plates(CCL), composite insulators, heat insulation material, etc.
Plastic industry:
Used for PP, PE, PVC and other products, the recommended addition amount is 40-60%, which can improve the flame retardant level and enhance the rigidity of the product (increase the bending modulus by 10%). It is suitable for home appliance shells and automotive interior parts.
Rubber industry:
Adding 50-70% to nitrile rubber (NBR) and silicone rubber can meet the requirements of flame retardant conveyor belts, cable sheaths, etc., while enhancing aging resistance (UV aging performance retention rate ≥ 85% after 500 hours).
Wastewater treatment:
As a neutralizing agent to replace caustic soda, it is used for the treatment of acidic wastewater in the chemical and electroplating industries, reducing COD content while avoiding the introduction of sodium ions, and reducing treatment costs by 15%.
Flue gas desulfurization:
Used for desulfurization systems in power plants and steel plants, it reacts with SO ₂ to generate recyclable aluminum sulfate, with higher desulfurization efficiency than traditional lime methods. The by-products can be used as coagulants in water treatment.
Paint industry:
As a flame retardant filler, adding 30-50% can increase the fire resistance limit of the coating (≥ 2h), suitable for steel structure fireproof coatings and ship anti-corrosion coatings.
Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics:
High purity products (impurities ≤ 0.1%) can be used as antacids, skin protectants, and cosmetic thickeners, meeting pharmacopoeial standards such as USP and EP.
